Temporary exhibition at the Musée de l’Hydraviation from May 28, 2025 to August 31, 2025

 

Our 2025 exhibition is dedicated to “Poste Restante, Escales sur la Ligne”, it is the 10th creation by artist Cecile Lena. This exhibition features new immersive scenography, with the Aéropostale being the main theme: the first transatlantic airline dedicated to the postal service. This 12,000-kilometer route from Toulouse to Santiago de Chile was initiated by Pierre-Georges Latécoère in 1918.

 

This journey is conceived in the form of eight scenic spaces; animated miniature architectures brought to life by sound, lightning and voices. Each of these “Escales de la Ligne” carries a story - those of Saint-Exupéry, Kessel, Mermoz, and the towns along the Aéropostale route. At each stop, the public meets these adventurers of the sky, real or fictional characters, pioneers of aviation, who transported letters at the cost of their lives. The tour ends in the cockpit of an airplane, inviting the public to revive the epic adventures of these heroes.

 

Games and activities have been developed for children to help them discover more about the aeropostale theme. These activities are freely accessible and free of charge in our children's play area.
