The Musée de l’Hydraviation in Biscarrosse offers you the chance to immerse yourself in the history of aeronautics and discover the fate of the “liners of the skies” that are so closely linked to the cultural heritage of the Landes. Your tour begins on arrival, with the highlight of our collection, an American Grumman Albatross, the only one in France!

The tour is broken down into several areas, in chronological order:

1910-1925: Pioneers of seaplane aviation and racing and seaplanes during World War I
1930-1954: Advances in airmail with the creation of the Latécoère base (Aéropostale) and the advent of international postal transportation by seaplane
The usefulness of seaplanes in the interwar period
The seaplanes’ utility during the interwar period
Seaplanes during World War II
Special missions for seaplanes in modern times

The tour begins as soon as you arrive, with an American seaplane, the symbol of the museum: the Grumman Albatross, the only one of its kind in France!
