Biscarrosse Seaplane Museum’s Collections
The Biscarrosse Seaplane Museum’s collections consist of a rich documented ressources and many rare pieces, which allow the history of seaplane aviation to be retraced and contribute to its National, European and International recognition.
Our vocation is to conserve and save this unique aeronautical heritage.
Some resources require careful restoration, realized thanks to the town of Biscarrosse and of course to the patrons who wish to be involved in the cultural, historical and touristic development of the territory.
The "Grumman Albatross" collection
The "Grumman Albatross" is a symbol of sea rescue and is a very rare American amphibious seaplane, with impressive dimensions: wingspan of 24.36 meters and height of 7.39 meters.
Long months of work and the collaboration of various external contributors has been required for its restoration.
Obviously, it is a huge pride and privilege for the Museum’s team to present this authentic aircraft to visitors.
